Title Flirting with notions of ourselves
Author(s)Stan James
Publication Date 23-03-1991

Comments Interesting points made in relation to the way in which The Year My Voice Broke continued in the Australian film making tradition of looking back to 'the way we were'. The author concludes that although Flirting is a likeable film , it does not shrewdly observe 'the way we were' as effectively as its predecessor.
Synopsis This article is a film review which credits Flirting's success to John Duigan and Thandie Newton, without whom, the author concludes, the film would have suffered greatly. The article provides a very brief production history of lead cast and Duigan, in addition to a brief synopsis of the film.
