Title John Duigan, Awakening the Dormant
Author(s)Scott Murray
Issue 76
Page Number 30 - 35,
Comments This is a worthwhile article for those who are interested in authorship in the Australian cinema. Duigan is questioned by Murray with particular reference given to the 'Kennedy Miller' (collaborative) method of film and television production with hope to ascertain whether the 'corporate authorship' practice of Kennedy Miller impacted upon Duigan in terms of his own film-making processes.
The major points of interest lie in the interviewer's thoughtful and analytic approach to Duigan's films, in particular 'The Year My Voice Broke'. Murray's questions rebound off Duigan's responses in a way which pushes the director to answer in a frank and personal manner.
A great interview in general.

A point to note is that Thandie Newton's name is spelt 'Tandy' throughout this article. Spelling in production credits is 'Thandie'.
