| Synopsis |
This is more like an anthropological account of a Fire Ceremony called Jardiwarnpa. The request to document the event was made by the Senior Warlpiri elderman in an attempt to reinforce an Aboriginal spirituality and tradition back into the culture. Everyone is involved in the production of the ceremony that calls upon ancestors , elders , women and the younger members of the various tribes. The results include beautifully crafted wooden medallions , paintings, elaborate head dresses, trance like dances as well as some of the politics and semantics between the people. It's an amazing account of the sophisticated nature of ceremony set amongst a cacaphony of people , song , dance and art. |
