Title Two Walk a Crooked Mile
Production Year 1975
Director Diana Nettlefold
Comments This film in the series stands out because of the dialogue but doesn't leave as much to the viewer's interpretation as the rest of the series for the same reason. The simple beauty of these films lies in watching the stories unfold and adding your own meaning to the images which stand out to you as the individual viewer. For this reason, Two Walk a Crooked Mile comes across as quite didactic and doesn't require as much input from the audience. Although the visual quality of the film is much more varied and of a higher standard than the first episode, in my opinion the original By Hook or By Crook is more representative of the agenda of the series.

Two Walk a Crooked Mile was awarded the Australian Cinematographers' Society Golden Tripod Award in 1976 for Colour Photography.
Synopsis Stuart is 11 and Sam is 2. While their Grandmother is having her portrait painted, Stuart takes his dog for a walk on the golf course and is followed by Sam. They are chased by irate golfers, hitch a ride in a boat and escape to a cemetery where Sam investigates graves.
