Name Elise McCredie
Birth Year 1968
Comments Elise McCredie, a Melbourne actor, quickly gained recognition and success after her first feature film, Strange Fits of Passion, was accepted in the 1999 Cannes Film Festival. It was later selected to appear in the Melbourne International Film Festival, and has since been nominated for an Australian Film Institute Award.

McCredie is an arts graduate of Melbourne University, but began pursuing an acting career at the Victorian College of the Arts in 1990. After graduating in 1992, Elise worked solidly for three years. It was during this time she began writing the script for Strange Fits of Passion.

McCredie's acting credits include roles in television shows such as:

Her films include 'The Missing' and one she is about to commence work on, Clara Law's new film 'The Goddess of 1967.' She also scripted and episode of ABC's drama 'Raw FM'.

Theatrically, Elise has had roles in The Garden of the Granddaughters, (STC, Playbox), AllSouls (The Griffin), The Malevolence (Belvoir St), and Footprints on the Water (La Mama).

Strange Fits of Passion is due for a general release in Australia on November 18, and also has a general release in Italy sometime in 2000.
